NOTE:
The Taeping was an English tea clipper built in 1863 by Robert Steele & Company at Greenock. Designed for Captain Alexander Rodgers, it participated in the Great Tea Race of 1866 and narrowly defeated the ship Ariel. After a notable career and many other tea races, Taeping was wrecked on Ladd's Reef in the South China Sea, on its way from Amoy to New York.
