At the time of Audenreid's admittance to the bar in 1886, he had already assumed the extensive management responsibilities of his late father's mining, railroad and banking concerns. He represented Philadelphia's Eighth Ward in the Common Council from 1891 to 1894 and was elected to the Court of Common Pleas, No. 4, in 1898 and re-elected, serving in that position until 1917.
