Hand-written note accompanying desk reads, "This desk came from the home of William Pritchard Richardson of Newburyport, Mass some time before 1811. He was a sea-faring man and lived in a house with a Captain's walk on the roof- and was my great-grandfather. Phoebe E. Richardson 92 Parish Rd. Scituate, Mass."
