Model of the luxury liner R.M.S Aquitania 20th century

Highly detailed painted wooded model.

L: 60 in.

Referred to as the "Wonder ship" of the Cunard line, Aquitania was launched in May of 1914. Typical of her era, the ship replaced steerage with tiny third class rooms. As many as 2000 passengers could be accommodated in her third-class and many of these would be immigrants.

Provenance: Sold to benefit the Seamen's Church Institute of New York and New Jersey.

Previously on loan to the Ellis Island Immigration Museum, New York, New York.
