The Free Library of Philadelphia Foundation. The portrait hung for many years in Pepper Hall at the Central Branch of the Free Library of Philadelphia. It was given to the Library March 2, 1931, by John Frederick Lewis. Lewis acquired the painting from the estate of Almira. K. Schwenk. The painting came to the Library Foundation with the tradition that it had been exhibited at the Centennial Exhibition in 1876.
