9mm Para. 3.9" barrel length. SN: 6585k. Blued metal finish with straw colored and niter blued small parts, and mounting checkered walnut grips. Single striker action short recoil operated and toggle locked pistol fed by detachable single stack magazines. The toggle link shows the {Crown/ERFURT} manufacturer marking, with the dates 1920/1917 appearing atop the barrel extension. The Imperial German {Reichsadler} is struck into the barrel, grip extension, and breechblock with all parts showing gothic letter inspection stamps indicative of German government manufacture. The safety features the GESICHERT mark, while the extractor is marked GELADEN. The pistol has matching serial numbers to the majority of components, but mounts a replaced firing pin, replaced toggle pin, and grips that are numbered 19. The barrel gauge marking reads 8,82, and is marked PIV on the right side. The double date indicates that this 1917 produced luger was refurbished in 1920 for issue to German government personnel in accordance with the Treaty of Versailles. The forward gripstrap features the unit marking S.P.4.32., and the pistol comes with a non matching wood base plug magazine.
Good as Arsenal Refurbished. Bore is Frosty with brown patina throughout and some pinpoint pitting. The finish has worn off of the barrel and much of the gripstraps with a brown patina forming in losses. Pistol shows edgewear and cycling wear in addition to some weakness of the earliest markings due to the arsenal refinish. The grips are discolored with some scattered scratches, mars, and thinning spots over the checkering. Grips rattle in place and show some gaps along the seams. Magazine is pitted in multiple locations and shows wear and sanding marks to the base plug.
