Jean-Bérenger de Nattes is a contemporary French furniture designer whose work is informed by an interest in art history and design. Nattes draws inspiration for his works from the great designers of the eighteenth, nineteenth, and twentieth centuries. The large scale and striking geometry of Nattes' work imbues traditional forms with modern sensibility and appeal. The bold use of lacquer and figured veneers reference the work of fine ébénistes working with luxury materials in England and France centuries before. Further, the trefoil form feet elevating the cabinet, a signature Nattes design motif, are executed with contemporary flair as three stacked gilt bronze tubes. Jean-Bérenger de Nattes works with private clients and designers. His work has been featured in publications such as Architectural Digest.
Overall excellent and ready to place condition with few (if any) signs of use . Custom ordered and newly made at time of construction. Two small areas on the top left and top right exterior curve where the veneer is beginning to bubble (only visible with raking light). Interior is clean and free of scuffs. Interior dimensions: width 57 1/2 x depth 19 1/2 inches.
