The chest is sturdy and in fine condition overall for age and use.
The carved figural decoration is rubbed in select areas.
The hinges of the fall-front are detached and need to be repaired. The fall can be secured when closed, but it is detached when open.
The central interior niche has significant damage, possibly from old insect damage, and an associated old repair.
There is an age split to the wood panel on one side.
Prior restoration present. We believe this to be a married piece, some parts 18th century, others 19th century.. There is possibly live pest activity in the upper center section.
