Appearing in overall fair and stable condition. The desk having a few scattered losses to the carved wood decoration, most noticeable at the apron, and on the back of the desk. The top pierced crest and apron both having old cracks and visible glue repairs. There is a large age crack running vertically along the lower section of the case as well as one on the proper right side. The birds surmounting the drawers with old breaks and areas of repair to their tails. The proper right front leg lacking one of its projecting wings. The other wings are attached somewhat loosely with screws. The drawers stick due to expansion and shrinkage of the wood. On the proper left side of the desk, the top drawer is missing. There are no keys. The proper left side with a hidden compartment opened using the doweled faux drawer pull on the interior of the desk. The approximate weight of the desk is 100 lbs.
