Sturdy and usable condition. The cabinet is a pastiche of different elements from various periods. The upper section was probably once a hanging cabinet with doors formed from probably-14th century altar panels. The interior was retrofitted and illuminated in the 20th century. The lower section appears to be mostly of 18th or 17th century construction, re-configured in the late 19th century. It might be one half of the upper section of a different cabinet. The iron hinges and latches throughout are hand-forged and likely 18th century or earlier. Worming, cracks, discoloration, and fading throughout.
