.308. 24.5" barrel length. SN: 00289F. Blued metal finish with dovetailed receiver and mounting a green synthetic stock with freefloating forend and adjustable length of pull with five spacers. Bolt-action repeating rifle fed by detachable box magazines. The receiver mounts a folding rear aperture and adjustable front sight with protectors. The stock features a textured finish to the wrist and on the forend. In addition, the stock mounts a rail with hand stop, and a mounting point for a bipod projecting forward of the handguard. The top of the receiver is marked P-H M85 CAL. 7.62X51mm/MADE IN ENGLAND. The bolt has a matching serial number applied via electropen as is correct for this model. Comes with an unsigned scope mount with one inch rings that attaches to the dovetails on the receiver and features a cutout for the rear sight. The scope base is unsigned, and neither the barrel nor receiver show the Birmingham proof markings typically encountered on this rifle suggesting it was assembled from parts left over after Parker Hale's dissolution.
Very Good. Bore is Very Bright with sharp rifling throughout. The metal finish overall is strong with few light scratches, but there are some scattered spots of patina forming. Spots are visible on the bipod mount, and the triggerguard shows a speckled pattern of patina overall. The magazine shows some further spots of oxidation. Stock displays some light handling wear and scratches, along with some dulled spots. The recoil pad has hardened.
