Contemporary Cheekstock Flintlock Rifle in the Style of Schertiger by John B. Derrick (American, b.1936)

.40 caliber. 30" octagonal barrel length. SN: NSN. Browned metal finish. Full length walnut stock has some rococo style carving on left side of grip. Flintlock rifle with notch rear sight and brass blade front sight. Item features a patchbox on right side, double sling swivels, and double set triggers. Stock has cast brass filigree fittings overall. Forend cap is elk horn. Item was crafted in the style of 18th century Swedish gunmaker Jonas Schertiger the Younger. Included with item is a red wood ramrod with carved elk horn tip and ramrod attachment in patchbox.

Made in November 2008.

Very good. Bore is bright. Finish shows sprinkled pit marks overall. Wood stock is in good condition. Action is functional.
