In overall fine and stable condition. Retains a fairly even, mellow patina throughout, with traces of a darker finish to the feet.  Old scuffs, marks, and scratches consistent with age and use. Few age cracks throughout. Smooth drawer action and seemingly retains the original drawer runners with rose head nails. Appears to retain the original hinges for the slant lid, with age cracks that have developed on the lid where the hinges are attached, though not loose or causing concern for structural integrity of the lid. Appears to retain the original lock mechanisms, along with functioning keys, to the slant lid, prospect door, and case drawers. The drawer pulls, while seemingly of period are replaced. The lever that secures the central, removable compartment is cracked and does not presently function, allowing for easy removal of the compartment and access to the concealed drawers.
