In overall fine and stable condition. Retains a fairly even later refinish throughout. Scuffs, marks and scratches consistent with age and use.  The pulls and escutcheons appear to be early replacements. Some of the drawers lined with a burgundy velvet liner. Retains keys that function with the early lock mechanisms.  Age cracks in areas throughout, particularly to the sides of the case. Old traces of powder-post beetle visible. There are areas of veneer patches to the drawer fronts and patches to the carved molding of the drawer faces.
The base appears to have endured significant repairs a long time ago, there is a brown painting covering the interior surface and evidence of old repaired cracks along the carved apron and returns, though the veneer on the exterior of these areas appears unscathed, suggesting that these areas of veneer may have been redone. The returns may also be later replacements.
