In overall fine and stable condition. Retains an even finish throughout, though likely not the original finish, and the color is fairly dark throughout, though the proper left side of the case is somewhat faded due to exposure to the sun.  Scuffs, marks and scratches consistent with age and use. Few age cracks throughout. Having a fairly smooth drawer action.  Drawers with an applied finish to the inside. The proper left slant lid end panel has been cracked, glued and pegged, but structurally sound. The hinges, while seemingly early and of the period, appear to be early replacements. The two top drawers each show a triangular patch to an upper corner of the drawer face where the molding was likely broken due to forceful closure of the drawer. Each foot facing shows evidence of having been previously cracked and reglued, approximately 3 inches from the bottom of the foot.  Width of post holes to drawer fronts is 2 1/2”, which matches the center point of the post hole on the brasses.  Width of brass backplate 3 1/2” x height 2 1/4”.
