The cabinet is in overall good condition, sturdy, with a working key, and presents well overall. It sits flush with the floor and is stable. 
There is craquelure to the lacquered finish at the mid-left and upper right sides of the cabinet body. There is a loss to the lacquer on the left side measuring approximately 2 inches in length. There is a small old repair to the lacquer at upper left. The original velvet-lined wood shelves were replaced with glass shelves at some point. One velvet-lined shelf remains on the lower level. The door hinges may have been replaced in the 20th century.
