Estimate$800 – $1,200
With 8 rent drawers to the top. The square form base with a swing cabinet door below drawer 'DEF'.
The green leather top later and with apparent damage from wood shrinkage/expansion beneath. Later, but not 20th century. Everything else appears to be original, but the underside of the center may have been reworked.
Overall the mahogany surfaces have areas of scratches, areas of veneer patches and regluing. The central circular well cover likely re-veneered and reworked. There is a small section of veneer loss to the well cover at interior of the top. The reverse of the well cover veneered with bookended mahogany with two large dovetails. The interior lined with later green felt.
The top's swivel mechanism revolves roughly, not smoothly or fully. The drawers have some expected splits and old stains from age and use. The drawers' locks not functional, some with interior damages but possibly original. There are some losses to the drawer cockbeading and lower banding of the top carcass. There is wear to the inlaid fruitwood drawer labels and some splits, fading. The cabinet door in the lower square base lacking correct key.
With one associated key.
