FOX, Andrew J., photographer. Sixth plate daguerreotype portrait of an elderly man with long hair and gold-highlighted spectacles worn on his forehead. [St. Louis, MO], n.d. (Wiping throughout, tarnishing along edge, some chemical spotting most notably to gold highlighting; unsealed.) Housed in a geometric Union case (light nicking). -- Quarter plate ambrotype portrait of a proud-looking bearded gentleman wearing ornate fraternal garb including a fringed apron featuring intricate gold highlighting. He holds one hand at his waist and the other in a fist against the lace-draped table next to him. (There appears to be some chemical reaction that has taken place where the gold highlighting is, creating a brownish/blackish residue or coloration obscuring much of the detail, also some loss to lacquer in lower portion, spotting and other imperfections throughout, spotting to mat; unsealed.) Housed in a floral Union case (nicking, chipping, non-functioning closure). -- Ninth plate tintype portrait of a gentleman with sideburns holding what appears to be a clarinet with one hand and a small mug of beer or some other dark liquid with the other. (Central vertical crease with some loss, loss to lower left corner, minor surface imperfections otherwise; resealed.) Housed in a scroll Union case (some nicking and chipping to edges). -- And 6 others, including 2 sixth plate daguerreotypes, one sixth plate ambrotype, 2 sixth plate tintypes, and one portrait on milk glass.
