Possibly a mourning image based on the mother's absence, but this cannot be confirmed. (Light tarnish to edges, strong clarity and contrast.) Housed in a full pressed paper case (some surface wear). -- Quarter plate daguerreotype of an attractive young woman wearing a black dress adorned with a lace collar as well as earrings, a brooch, and multiple rings highlighted in gold. It is difficult to confirm, but there appears to be a slight bulge on her neck, suggesting that she may have a goiter. However, this cannot be confirmed. (Few light scattered spots, very strong clarity and contrast).
