The wood cover with breaks and losses, particularly along the bottom edge and with a chip to a slot above one eye; lacking elements that would have attached to the wood and with some splits in the wood, the cover and base likely matched later; the porcelain reduced; with a break to an element to the center front, with two hairline cracks, each with a staple on the mouth rim, one on the back 1 3/4 inches long, the other on the front side approx. 4 inches long and curving at the end, with possible small scattered chips, including to details of the tail; with rubbing to the overglaze enamels.
