LANG, Andrew (1844-1912), Scottish poet. Autograph letter signed ("A. Lang"), to an unknown recipient. London, 3 March. One page, 5 x 7 in. (folds, some soiling, wear to edges, including tears to lower margin). Lang references an article on fishing, and describes a sketch showing a man fishing, which is drawn in pencil on a separate piece of paper mounted on the verso of the letter, signed at top right, "Sketch by Andrew Lang" (light edge wear to sketch). An inscription below the sketch states, "This is the kind of attitude a man is in crunching behind a stone, to cast with a little pool (?) above him. The tower is Kirkhope Tower."

Lang discusses John Tanner's narrative regarding Tanner's captivity among Native Americans and the book he wrote in the 1880s based on those experiences called "Grey Hawk." 

[With:] Elisabeth of Bavaria, Queen of the Belgians (1876-1965). Autograph letter attributed to Elisabeth of Bavaria, signed ("Elisabeth"). 26 October 190(?). 4 pages, 8 x 5 in. (folds). A personal letter to a friend in which Elizabeth references getting together, and being "nervous about asking the King if it was the right moment for you to come." She later says, "My life is so exceedingly difficult and rough..." 

[With:] ANSON, Adelbert (1840-1909). Autograph letter signed ("Adelbert") as Bishop of Qu'Appelle. 18 September 1891, Qu'Appelle. One page, 5 1/4 x 8 1/4 in. (folds, wear to edges including few creases, some chips). A response to a letter from an unknown individual.
