While both sets have the same overall design, the set dated 1775 has a more dramatic shaping of the rim and deeper gadroon decoration. The examples dated 1780 with bright-cut inventory numbers and weights on underside. The inventory numbers on underside suggest that this was part of a much larger service. Each example with fairly heavy wear to center field from contact with knife. Moderate to heavy nicks and scratches to border.
