Italian inscription senza cornice [without the frame] to verso of panel painting, with paper label bearing inscription No. 121 below. Paper label affixed to frame verso of Madonna and Child reading Sandro Botticelli.


In overall fine condition. Age cracks to frame of smaller, with small loss to upper left corner. Cloudiness and slight texture to glass. Panel not examined outside frame. Larger with small abrasion to panel at center left, slightly affecting robes of both figures. Light deposits of dust and surface grime throughout, with frame abrasions throughout perimeter. Previous reattachments to both finials of the altarpiece frame; one does not sit flush on frame. Bottom of frame is loose and would benefit from stabilization.
