With well-restored breaks (including to the finials, supports), as is expected for the fragile nature and age of item, only apparent with close and careful examination. Ostrich eggs have been broken and restored, and consequently there have been restorations to the rest of the candelabrum. Repairs to giltwood throughout are not immediately noticeable. One ostrich egg with visible damage, both eggs with restoration and repair. The gilding with softened rubbed tone with visible areas of gesso and bole. Both bases have some cracking, one a bit more so than the other. Some potential cracking along construction joints. The carving appears consistent throughout the pair. With very minor casting variations to the nozzles, which may indicate some may be old replacements, however for the most part, these appear period. The nozzles may also have possibly been re-threaded. Tassels are apparently largely origianl, a few may be well-executed replacements.
