Property from the Fred and Kay Krehbiel Collection, Part I

The provenance is not known. Sturdy condition overall. Mostly dating to the 17th century but with slight alterations, as is typical. The top has a crack or seam running through its length which is braced from the center of the top and across serveral braces on the underside suggesting the top might have been reduced from a larger size. The top is somewhat faded at the edges from sunlight and touching. There are old heat and water marks throughout as well as several areas which are stained or painted in to conceal gouges. There is a shorter age crack through one end of the top. One (and possibly two) rails of the stretcher are modern replacements. On the long stretcher which is original there is a dowel repair visible looking down and a dowel repair to the rail which supports the stretcher, visible underneath. Worming, discolorations, and chips throughout are consistent with age.
