The top of the base which is a frame for the marble top leans downward when standing alone and requires that it be secured to a wall for use. When free-standing, the base stands sturdy but the scroll stem section will wobble slightly upon movement. The base exhibiting a mostly consistent pattern of rust and surface marks to the steel throughout as is typical for aging and normal use/handling of material. The marble top intact and in good, stable condition overall, with one small well-repaired chip at the top back proper-left corner, not immediately noticeable and the remaining visible hairline is mostly camouflaged by other veining of material. Some other light surface marks as is typical for use and handling. The underside of the marble top covered with an adhesive and other matieral. Additional images available upon request.

The absence of a posted condition report on the Freeman's website or in our catalogues should not be interpreted as commentary on an item's condition. Prospective buyers are responsible for inspecting a lot or sending their agent or conservator to inspect the lot on their behalf, and for ensuring that they have requested, received and understood any condition report provided by Freeman's.
