A Large Famille Rose Porcelain Figure of Liu Hai and a Toad
Late 19th-Early 20th Century
晚清/民國 曾龍昇造粉彩劉海戯金蟾塑像 Liu Hai modeled seated with his left hand holding a string of cash atop a rockwork base with the turquoise-glazed toad by his side, bearing a Zeng Longsheng three-character mark to the underside.
Height 19 1/2 in., 49.5 cm.

Mertes, Sr., Winona, Minnesota; the Chinese Painting Collection of Ms. Yuan Jiaying and Mr. Li Guoyuan, Chicago; the Estate of Hisazo Nagatani, Chicago, and the Asian Art Collection deaccessioned from the Strong Museum of Play, Rochester, New York.
