Northampton, MA, 16 April 1929. 1 page, 4to, on Calvin Coolidge letterhead, minor toning, old folds. Coolidge thanks Stratton for the invitation to speak at MIT's commencement but declines, living up to his sobriquet "Silent Cal" he states "I am trying to avoid making speeches so that I shall have to decline."
