2 examples of the classic "Stand Pat" button featuring a hand holding playing cards, one bearing Theodore Roosevelt's portrait. The first, 1 1/4 in. dia., curl with "Copyright 1900 Edward A. Ely Detroit." Original back paper reads "Send Orders For Stand Pat Buttons And Lithograph Hangers To Stand Pat Button Co.," including Detroit address (some light surface wear to button). -- The second, 1 in. dia., curl with same copyright of Edward A. Ely and original back paper issued by the Stand Pat Button Co., Detroit (very good condition overall).
