[EARLY PHOTOGRAPHY]. A trio of portraits featuring men with dogs, comprising:
Sixth plate tintype portrait of a mustachioed gentleman with curly hair seated next to a table surmounted by a medium dog. (Surface crackling visible throughout plate; unsealed and housed under mat, glass, and preserver only.) No case. The subject also appears to be smoking a cigar. -- Sixth plate ruby ambrotype of a man seated with two dogs lying at his feet. (Significant crack to plate in lower right, image deterioration and discoloration to all edges; unsealed.) Housed in a half pressed paper case. The man sits in front of a large cloth backdrop, but studio props can be seen to one side. -- Sixth plate ambrotype portrait of a man posed standing before a painted backdrop with his trusty canine companion. (Significant image loss and very heavy flaking throughout, heavy spotting to mat and preserver; unsealed.) Housed in a half pressed paper case). The man appears to hold a firearm upright by the barrel in one hand, and to be touching the dog's head with the other. -- Together, 3 wet plate images of men with dogs.
