[EARLY PHOTOGRAPHY]. A group of 23 daguerreotype portraits of subjects of varying ages wearing eyeglasses, including:
A pair of half plate portraits featuring the same elderly woman wearing a bonnet and glasses. (Both with tarnishing and oxidation spotting to images, spotting to mats; both retain portions of original seals.) Housed together in a fully separated pressed paper case. In one image, the woman is posed alone, while in the other she is seated next to a young gentleman. -- Sixth plate portrait of a lovely young woman wearing glasses and holding a patterned shawl around herself. (Minor streaks, very clear image; resealed.) Housed in a pressed paper case (nearly fully separated at spine). -- And 20 others, including 5 quarter plate examples and 15 sixth plate examples, many without full cases. -- Together, 23 daguerreotypes featuring a wide age-range of subjects wearing eyeglasses.
