2 3/4 x 4 in. pocket diary. Original black diced morocco with flap (scuffs). Identified to Andrew T. Hall (not listed in HDS), accompanying records indicate that he served in the 51st Pennsylvania Infantry, Company G. Includes a few entries of his duties and seems to have served as a makeshift ledger. The diary is for the year 1863, however, entries seem to indicate that it may have been utilized in 1865.
[With:] Manuscript post-war narrative. 37 pages, 8vo, 5 7/8 x 9 1/2 in., minor toning at edges. Includes a contents page with chapter headings: "1. Old Home in war time. 2. Slave scenes of 1855. 3. John Brown at Harpers Ferry. 4. Gala Day of War. 5. "Felix" - The Adventures of a Horse. 6. Antietam. 7. Battle Races of the Shenandoah. 8. Guerillas, the reign of terror. 9. Gettysburg + the Hospital. 10. The Prisoner's Return. 11. The Fall of Richmond + the End of War."
[Also with:] One tintype, four CDVs, and 1 large albumen of a child, with identifications in relation to "Butchie."
