St. Paul, MN, 19 September 1853. 2 pages, 4to, on Baldwin School letterhead. Writes about his experience in the Minnesota frontier after being asked to take charge of a "young Ladies' seminary" he continues: "I suppose you will be filled with wonder & astonishment that I should leave all that is so dear to me in Pittsfield & come to this far off country, but it is a splendid place." -- Copy of Aunt Sarah Russell's last letter to her children.
