Housed in full case (separated at hinge). The subject's forage cap shows a brass Co. A. letter and infantry bugle. -- Sixth plate ambrotype of an anonymous federal infantry private in regulation nine button frock coat showing the narrow branch of service trim on collar and cuffs. (Significant abrasion damage to top of plate.) Housed in full case (separated at hinge). The subject's forage cap lacks the typical brass insignia. He wears a two piece round militia belt plate (Gavin pp. 60-61) commonly associated with early war New England troops.
