Large 4to (11 1/2 x 14 in.) 290 x 360 mm. 67 photogravure plates, some with multiple images; 27 leaves of text (occasional smudging, minimal toning to margins, occasional gutter separations of tissue guards, one leaf of text fully separated with chipped edges). Contemporary dark green cloth, red morocco spine label gilt (wear to extremities). Presumably FIRST EDITION IN BOOK FORM. Originally issued in 9 parts in the same year as this edition.
An attractive series of images documenting the scenery of the eastern part of Washington State as well as the northern part of Idaho, including waterfalls, lake and river views, forests, harvesters at work, and a mining camp.
