Retains a fairly consistent patina and finish throughout. Retains a case key. Both winding cylinders take a wind, although it is lacking a winding key. The face with rubbing and small losses to the dial. Discoloration and craquelure visible to the surface of the dial. Hour hand is detached and will need to be soldered back into position. Age cracks visible in areas. Old scuffs, marks and scratches consistent with age and use. Retains three brass finials that were not photographed during the photography session. The rope twist molding from the lower edge of the hood is detached, but retained. The case and the works are likely associated. The proper left rope twist molding has been replaced with a round dowel molding. Likely that the side panels of hood have been replaced.
The saddle board has been replaced, so have the cords for the pendulums. Lacking pendulum. The weights may be early replacements. May be the original plate, if not it is an early replacement.
Condition reports are available upon request. All lots are sold “as is,” in the condition they are in at the time of the auction. The physical condition of lots can vary due to age, normal wear and tear, previous damage, and restoration. Prospective buyers are strongly advised to inspect a lot personally or through a knowledgeable representative prior to bidding. The absence of any reference to the condition of a lot does not imply that the lot is in perfect condition or completely free from wear and tear, imperfections, or the effects of aging. Prospective buyers must review and agree to the Conditions of Sale before participating in an auction, and it is the responsibility of the buyer to ensure that they have requested, received and considered any condition report.
