Notation on 9 August 1843 in different hand "[This officer ought not to have been active roll at this day - he of course, cannot be head man]". Fort Leavenworth hand stamp within which is handwritten cancellation "July 22." Black free frank stamp. -- Lt. Jonathan Love, 1st Dragoons. Fort Leavenworth. 17 June 1846. "Reports to his arrival with 15 Recruits." Fort Leavenworth hand stamp within which is handwritten cancellation June "20." "On Public Service" 10 rate. Received Washington 6 July 1846.
