An 1840 presidential campaign lithograph commemorating William Henry Harrison's famous victory at Tippecanoe. Harrison's war record and nom de guerre were major campaign strengths in the election seeing the Whigs win the presidency.

There was a resurgence in interest in the War of 1812, and in particular William Henry Harrison and Tippecanoe, during the 1888 presidential election and presidency of Harrison's grandson, President Benjamin Harrison.
