Half plate ambrotype landscape scene. (Few spots, few areas of loss or wear to emulsion, spotting to mat and preserver; unsealed.) Housed under mat, glass, and preserver only, no case. Provenance: A southern Maine estate (previous listing notes that image was found in a barn cleanout in that area). 

The coastal town seen here is likely a tidal inlet area along the coast of Maine. Featured are numerous houses, farms, and a church, with fishing shacks and high tide watermark visible along the shore. A tree figures largely in the lower left foreground.
