2 1/2 x 3 in. daguerreotype (visible area), matted and sealed in frame. (Few spots to plate, tarnish to edges; seal along perimeter of frame partially separated in certain sections, some soiling to verso, and ring for hanging frame no longer present.) Verso with period inked inscription, possibly German, but difficult to discern, includes the date of September 1843.
[With:] Quarter plate daguerreotype plate, image no longer present, marked lower right "A. Gouin," who was a French photographer famous for nude studies. Housed in thermoplastic frame with floral and scroll motifs (some surface wear to reverse side).
