[EARLY PHOTOGRAPHY]. A daguerreotype portrait of a sensitively posed young girl.
Sixth plate daguerreotype featuring a young girl posed with the shoulder of her dress pulled down to reveal a bare shoulder and part of her chest. (Tarnishing to edges, some spotting and loss of focus to image.) Sealed in an églomisé mat/frame with hanging fob attached at top (some visible wear to finish inside of gilt border, few small punctures to paper backing).
The young girl holds one hand near her mouth and one hand on the portion of the dress that is pulled down. Her surroundings are difficult to make out, though it appears she is sitting on a draped chair of some sort.
