Rectos feature series titles "Expedition of 1873" (3) or "Expedition of 1874" (4) and "1st Lieut. Geo. M. Wheeler, Corps of Engineers Commanding" imprint. Versos with "War Department, Corps of Engineers, USA. Geographical Explorations and Surveys West of the 100th Meridian" imprint, credit to T.H. O'Sullivan, image number and title.

Image numbers and titles include: No. 19, Group of Zuni Indian "Braves," at their Pueblo, NM. -- No. 20, War Chief of the Zuni Indians. -- No. 29, Navajo Brave and his Mother. The Navajos were formerly a warlike tribe until subdued by US Troops, in 1859-60.
