Michelangelo Felix (Felice) Emmanuelli Tristani (1883-1943) was born in Puerto Rico who became a naturalized United States citizen in New York in 1904. Both documents here signed by President Roosevelt are for Emmanuelli's commission as a first lieutenant in the Porto Rico Regiment of Infantry, effective from 25 August 1907. The earlier document on paper is also signed by Secretary of War Luke Edward Wright ("Luke E. Wright"). The later document, a more formal illustrated vellum copy, was signed by the Acti
