Lot Description

Fine Sevres opalescent glaze porcelain and gilt bronze mounted lamp circa 1840

The lift-off lid over acanthus scroll cast rim and bulbous baluster urn, the slender neck painted to show two cherubs, the body painted to show a maiden in robes with floral garlands, he reverse painted to show musical instruments and classical motifs, the whole gilt decorated to show foliate scrolls, lattice, urns, and raised dots; raised on a gilt bronze base cast to show masks and cartouches. Stamped with Crown Sevres mark for 1830-1848 beneath the lid.
