Modern Masters: Works from Nakashima Studios

Freeman's 22 April 2015 auction American Furniture, Folk & Decorative Arts including 20th Century Design features an outstanding assembly of works from George Nakashima (1905-1990) and his daughter Mira Nakashima, two masters of modern design. Highlights include a curly maple burl and walnut Special Minguren I Coffee Table by George Nakashima estimated at $30,000-50,000 and a Double Pedestal Desk with Asa-No-Ha Panel in walnut, rosewood, white cedar and paper by Mira Nakashima, estimated at $8,000-12,000. Exhibition for American Furniture, Folk & Decorative Arts including 20th Century Design opens to the public on Friday 17 April.
